Huawei Consumer Business is now recruiting a Standardization and Industry Development (SID) Manger, working on short-distance communications (SRWC) areas.

The candidate needs to actively develop consumer business strategies in Huawei with requirements from product lines, and focuses on SRWC standards in major international organizations, such as Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, NFC Forum, and etc. Representing Huawei, the candidate is expected to build global influence upon consumer technologies, by means of technical trend insights, standardization proposals, partner attraction, and industry activities. Meanwhile, the candidate should actively cooperate with Huawei headquarters on formulation of business plans and promote the internationalization of new technical standards in Europe and at global scale.

Work Locations: Leuven (Belgium), Cambridge (UK), Munich (Germany), negotiable.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in standardization activities in the Short-Range Wireless Communications (SRWC), with a high-priority focus in Bluetooth SIG (BT-SIG) activities, while covering other relevant organizations and technologies (Wi-Fi, NFC, UWB).
  2. Make innovative contributions to BT-SIG, and deliver insights report on SRWC technologies, and run for key positions as well.
  3. Influence European and global regulations on SRWC to identify risks and provide profound analysis with possible mitigation recommendations to research and product lines.
  4. Expand and maintain relationship with European and global partners, and look for new partnership cooperation or joint project.
  5. Align with product lines across different departments, and deliver strategic planning on SRWC.
  6. Promote novel SRWC applications via expertise, and collaborate with other colleagues to promote best practices.
  7. Take the lead on creation and development of an ecosystem in Europe and at global scale based on new technologies, including liaison with standards developing organizations, Europe committee, chip and device vendors, and research institutes.
  8. Formulate reports to clearly show progresses (monthly, quarterly, yearly).

Travelling: International travel is needed, mostly within Europe (30% of the time)

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Expertise in wireless communications, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, UWB, Cellular, or other wireless technologies.
  2. Research experiences in PHY, MAC layers of communications, and have good publications.
  3. Experiences in standardization, organization operation, and eco-system development.
  4. Capabilities of technology insights and strategic planning.
  5. Master’s or PhD Degree in computer science, communications, or other engineering areas.
  6. Work in multicultural environment.
